Countdown

You know that feeling when you're waiting for something you always wanted that you actually can't wait? That Eager fire starting in your heart (Not The Adele Type) that you just want that moment to come! Whether it's a certain date like a Birthday or an event or just a specific hour of the day for your favorite show or a big match coming or whatever.

That's when seconds become minutes and minutes feel like hours and hours are like....well long time.

We feel that feeling almost every day. We just hang on till a moment we cherish comes. When we are just students in the last period, we don't really focus on the teacher, we just wanna go home! specially if it's weekend, so we all go through that " Time Goes By, So Slowly.." moment.

On a bigger scale, we just wait for that special day to come. whether it's a religious occasion or just the day of the family trip or a flight you've been waiting for your whole life which is the beginning of a new chapter in your journey of life. When I was in the 12th grade and on the verge of graduation, only few days to finish the last high school exam in my life, I used to make a calendar. cut equal pieces of paper and write down numbers on them, and each day I Rip off one paper. I mean isn't our life just a calendar that every day we rip off a page? till no more pages are left?

When I was younger, I Used to Make use of studying. It's boring and you instantly feel sleepy when you look at a book but when you actually sleep you just don't feel sleepy anymore -.- anyways, I used to draw a robot, and to reduce the boredom of waiting, I used to color each part of it when I finish a subject. that way I can tell how much left for me to finish everything.

What I'm trying to say is that waiting is slow torture and boring, really boring. what do YOU do to pass time when you're waiting? Sometimes I just wanna yell at the thing or person that I'm waiting for, " DON'T KEEP ME WAITING!! "

Social Disease

Diversity, Inequality, Discrimination and Racism. Different Names but they all hover around the same thing. which is being different.

Racism is a short word with a long history throughout the world. it evolved from simple differences between humans till it reached its shape in the latest centuries. and the most simple definition of Racism is to believe that a race is superior to another race. And while there are many differences among us, we're also very much alike.

Racism Differs too, I mean that it's different from someone to another. for some people it depends on the skin color or nationality, for others it's the sexual-orientation, for others it's the football or soccer team that they root for.

When I was in the first grade we had a very VERY dark skinned guy (AKA Black). I was Seriously scared of him and disgusted to even touch him ( I Was 6 years old, Sue Me. ) why? Because he was different. Later On I found out that he was actually like me and we're not so different. Nowadays he's my somewhat Best Friend.

So, "Don't Judge A Book By Its Title" ? maybe? Sadly here in Kuwait and I'm sure in other countries some people look down to others. just because S/He Is Different. As An Example The Maid Or The Driver. They are NOT slaves you know. they are human beings. just like you. but the difference is that they left their homes, families and everything, to come and serve you in order to have money and live a better life. another saying we have here or among the people I know when someone does something stupid they say " What Are You? An Indian? " that's TOTALLY Racist. Indians Aren't Stupid! Actually some of the greatest minds and most intelligent people are Indians.

An OTHER Discrimination Between us is the "I'm Sunni" "I'm She'ee" thing which are some "Branches" in Islam. instead of fighting each other we should focus on the greater cause! which is being there for the country.
Rosa Parks  for example was the one who began the fight against Racism in USA just because she refused to give her seat on a bus to a white guy. Harvey Milk was the first openly gay man to be elected to public office. and of course the famous Dr. Martin Luther King. (Click On Each Name In Order To Know More)
I can go on and on and on about this topic because it will never end. but we can fight it, reduce it and try our best to stop spreading it.

"Racism isn't born, folks, it's taught.  I have a two-year-old son.  You know what he hates?  Naps!  End of list."  ~Dennis Leary

Finally I just wanna say What I meant by the pic in this post, "No Matter Who You Are, Male or Female, Gay Or Straight, Muslim Or Christian, Sunni Or She'ee. We Are All Humans In The End. Each Of Us Is Part Of The Bigger Picture. Yes We Might Be In Different Colors But We Paint The Painting. And Racism Is Just A Block In The Way. We Are Who We Are."

Freedom

“Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

What does Freedom mean to you? To me, Freedom means the state when you can do whatever you, whenever you want without affecting others or infringing their freedom or privacy. Well, that's MY perspective.
Everyone needs Freedom, Animals and humans alike. No one wants to be captivated nor held down. Specially teenagers. As A teenager you hate being controlled and always try to fight any kind of power, either if this power was your teachers in school or even your parents. I'm not telling you don't do it, Actually the opposite. Do it, but do it with class.

 "Dear Parents,

Why don't you give me the freedom and privacy that I want? Why don't you let me live my life as I want? you lived yours so let me live mine now. I don't wanna be overprotected, living in your shadow for the rest of my life. I wanna shine on my own. Of course I'll make mistakes but, don't we all? Nobody's perfect after all. Yes I know that you love me but sometimes that's too much
~ Regards, a normal Teen."

When I was a kid, we had two bird pets. Dad used to cut the end of each wing. one day I asked why? he said " So It Doesn't Fly Away. " which means that it HAVE to stay. it can't fly. Its Natural gift! it can't use it. That's what parents do to us, Cut the tips of our wings so we can't fly away? but till when? We're gonna grow them back and leave the nest sooner or later.

In my last year in High school, My Physics Teacher - who was more like a father to us - told us a story. It went like this
" Once upon a time, there was a bear trainer. he had a bear whom he raised since he was a mere cub. they grew together and he always fed him and took care of him. One day the trainer was sleeping and there was a fly on his nose. The bear saw the fly and didn't want it to wake its master up, so the bear picked up a big rock and......you know the rest." then the teacher said: " The bear is us - parents - we love our kids so much that we hurt them, maybe not throw rocks at them but still, we never give them the chance because we say that they are still young."

So, I wanna tell every parent or adult or whomever there, Don't choke your kid with your love. Don't cut their wings. give them a chance. and I personally hate being overprotected.
